• Maintain the security and integrity of the platform

We do not use your information for advertising, marketing campaigns, or any purpose not described above.

4. SMS & Phone Numbers

Your phone number is one of the most sensitive pieces of information we hold. Here is exactly how we treat it:

• We will never sell your phone number to any third party, under any circumstances
• We will never share your phone number with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing companies
• Your phone number is used solely to send the SMS messages you signed up for
• SMS messages are sent through Twilio, our SMS provider. Twilio's privacy policy governs their handling of message data. We do not share your personal information with Twilio beyond what is necessary to deliver your messages
• Farm owner phone numbers are never displayed publicly on the Site
• Subscriber phone numbers are never visible to farm owners

Opt-Out

You may stop receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, your phone number will be retained in our system solely to honor your opt-out and prevent accidental re-enrollment. You may request complete deletion by contacting us.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

Service Providers

We use a small number of third-party services to operate the Site. These providers receive only the information necessary to perform their function:

• Twilio — SMS delivery. Receives phone numbers and message content to deliver SMS messages
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — Hosting and database. Stores listing and subscriber data on servers located in the United States

We do not authorize these providers to use your information for their own purposes.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of FarmLists.org, its users, or others.

Business Transfers

If FarmLists.org is sold or transferred to another operator in the future, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users via SMS or a prominent notice on the Site before any such transfer occurs.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your listing or subscription is active. If you request removal of your listing or opt out of SMS messages, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.

Farm listing information sourced from public records may remain on the Site in an unclaimed state even after a farm owner requests removal of their personal contact information.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These include encrypted data storage, access controls, and secure transmission protocols.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use caution when sharing personal information online.

9. Children's Privacy

FarmLists.org is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we may have such information, please contact us.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If you have provided a phone number, we will also notify you by SMS of significant changes.
